Nothing damages an artist’s reputation faster than brows that heal the wrong colour. The good news: colour shift is predictable. Once you understand undertone, you stop guessing.<\/p>\n
PMU pigments are mixtures. A brown is built from warm and cool components, and those components do not fade at the same speed. As the cooler particles break down first, the warm base is exposed \u2014 which is why brows drift orange or red over time rather than simply getting lighter.<\/p>\n
Ash-based pigments do the reverse. If placed too shallow, or used on skin that is already cool-toned, the warmth disappears and what is left reads grey or even bluish.<\/p>\n
Look at the inner wrist in natural light. Greenish veins suggest a warm undertone; blue or purple suggests cool; a mix means neutral. Then check the skin’s existing pigmentation \u2014 Fitzpatrick type IV and above carries more underlying warmth, so a pigment that looks correct in the bottle will pull warmer once healed.<\/p>\n
